Ukrainian and global legal professionals, civic activists, professionals and youth be part of a sequence of occasions less than the Structure Week initiative to discuss how to far better use constitutional justice for defending human rights in instances of war. The initiative, organised by the OSCE Assistance Programme in partnership with the Constitutional Courtroom of Ukraine, culminated on 28 June 2023, the country’s Structure Day with the Intercontinental Convention “The Constitution of Ukraine and the Triad of European Values: A Eurointegration Perspective”. The celebration enabled Ukrainian and overseas constitutional judges, practitioners, academics and intercontinental gurus to critique the importance of the triad of European values – democracy, human legal rights, and the rule of regulation – to participate in their role all through the armed conflict.
“We commend the resilience of our Ukrainian partners, of your institution, to continue on to uphold the values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law – our common values, enshrined in worldwide legal devices, in the Helsinki Closing Act. They have impressed and guided us for practically 50 years. The discussions throughout the convention will also assist to further align Ukraine’s constitutional justice with European constitutional tradition and international regulation.
